The Directory Settings page is the central configuration hub for transforming your website into a directory listing platform.
Navigate to WordPress Dashboard → Directory → Settings to configure all essential options related to listings, user permissions, payments, and display settings.
The Settings section allows you to customize and control how your directory functions. Since the plugin is highly configurable, it provides a variety of options to define what users can see and do within your directory.
When you access the Directory → Settings page, you will see multiple tabs on the right side of the screen. These tabs help you manage different aspects of your directory, including:
General – Basic site-wide settings, email notifications, and admin approval controls.
Labels – Customize the labels and terminology used throughout the directory.
Permalink – Configure SEO-friendly URLs for listings and categories.
Archives – Manage how listings appear in archive pages like category or location-based pages.
Skin – Modify the appearance, colors, and styling of the directory.
Import – Import demo content or existing listings.
Login – Configure user login and registration options.
Social Logins – Enable login via Google, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
Price – Set up pricing formats, currency, and symbols for paid listings.
Location / Map – Configure Google Maps or OpenStreetMap for location-based searches.
Claims – Allow business owners to claim and verify their listings.
Ads – Manage advertising settings and display sponsored listings or banner ads.
After installing the plugin, it's recommended to: ✔ Go through each settings tab to configure the directory as per your needs. ✔ Set up listing categories, pricing packages, and user roles. ✔ Integrate Google Maps API (if needed) for location-based searches.
