Listing City

The Listing Cities feature helps categorize listings based on geographical locations, making it easier for users to browse and filter content.

Steps to Add a New Listing City:

  1. Go to WordPress Dashboard

    • Navigate to Directory → Listing Cities

    • Click “Add New Listing City”

  2. Enter City Details:

    • Name: Enter the city name (e.g., "New York," "Sydney").

    • Slug: Create a URL-friendly version (e.g., “new-york”). Use lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens.

  3. Assign a Parent City (Optional):

    • If this city belongs to a region or state, assign a parent category (e.g., "New York City" under "New York State").

    • Choose None if this is a standalone city.

  4. Add a Description (Optional):

    • Provide details about the city (e.g., key attractions, business hubs).

    • Some themes may display this information.

  5. Upload Media (Optional):

    • Image: Used for "Taxonomy" shortcodes.

    • Icon Image: Displays in listing sections and maps.

    • Icon: Used for "Taxonomy" shortcodes and maps.

  6. Customize Colors (Optional):

    • Icon Color: Defines the color for city icons.

    • Background Color: Sets the background color for city display.

    • Text Color: Changes text color for city names.

  7. Add a Map Image (Optional):

    • If your theme supports map images, upload a custom image for better representation.

  8. Click “Add New Listing City” to Save.

Example City Structure:

📂 United States (Parent Category)  📁 New York City  📁 Los Angeles  📁 Chicago

📂 Australia (Parent Category)  📁 Sydney  📁 Melbourne  📁 Brisbane

Additional Tips:

✔ Use consistent naming (avoid abbreviations). ✔ Assign parent cities to improve filtering. ✔ Use high-quality images/icons for better aesthetics.
